The man of the moment at Milan is not Rafael Leao. Or rather: Leao is always there and Leao is always talked about, but there is someone else who is increasingly taking the headlines. This is Tijjani Reijnders, a Dutch midfielder who, after a good first season with the Rossoneri, has definitively blossomed in the current one.
Telephone
The goal against Real Madrid, after the brace scored against Bruges and before the pearl assist from Cagliari, was the straw that broke Reijnders’ back. And it certainly made his life ‘more complicated’: “After the goal against Real Madrid – revealed the Dutchman – my phone rang non-stop. After the match, I received messages from many friends and family. You must not leave take too much, you risk getting too excited: this is not my intention. I feel very good at Milan, it’s up to me to continue like this. In Milan I can still walk peacefully or have lunch somewhere (laughs, ed.)”.
Market and renewal
Reijnders’ phone will certainly keep ringing. Not for calls and messages from friends and relatives, however. In fact, there is strong interest from Manchester City and Real Madrid in the midfielder born in 1998. But, as stated by the boy himself, the desire to stay at Milan is also strong. It is no mystery, moreover, that Reijnders is in negotiations with Milan for the renewal of his contract. The parties seem to be getting closer and closer: we are talking, with a lot of confidence and a lot of optimism, about an extension until 2030 at more than four million euros per season.
