Boulaye Dia is one of the best attackers of this first part of the championship. He arrived on loan with the right to buy from Salernitana, after a terrible year – and on the verge of exile for not having gone to Wolverhampton with an offer deemed inadmissible by the Campania region – with only four goals in seventeen games, but above all a relegation which he did not allow any replies. Yet he was a transfer man from the previous summer, thanks to the sixteen goals – and many assists – in 2022-23.
Now Boulaye Dia lives a dream, or almost. Mostly because in the last few days, following trips with the national team, he contracted malaria. Not bad, at least in football terms. Because Lazio is second in the standings also thanks to its goals. During his career he also won the African Cup in 2021, being awarded by the president of Senegal as a grand officer of the national order of the lion. Now the hope is to take the Biancocelesti as high as possible.
“My story comes from a long time ago, there have been many obstacles since the beginning of my career since I was younger. They told me I wasn’t big enough, in fact many clubs rejected me because of my height. It’s been a different story time before I can sign a professional contract, that is, after the age of twenty. For me it is important to come to Lazio, it means a lot to me very difficult. I want to help the team achieve their goals.” Boulaye Dia turns 28 today.
