De la Fuente gives updates on Morata: “He’s fine, he’s in almost perfect condition”

Luis de la Fuente, Spain coach, spoke at a press conference on the eve of the match against Denmark: “They are doing an excellent job and it is possible that they will introduce some variations compared to what we saw in the European Championships. But we are preparing for the match and we will try to impose our style and be superior. It will certainly be an interesting match from a tactical point of view, we will field the best team possible because we want to win and finish in first place.”

Why didn’t you call up Íñigo Martínez or Nacho?
“Because Pau Cubarsí was the first option. He played with his club against Real Sociedad on Sunday and clarified our doubts. Íñigo is not in my plans because we are thinking of other players.”

Do you know the new Danish coach, Riemer?
“I don’t know him, I know he has worked in England and Belgium and I’m sure he is a good coach.”

What do you expect from 2025?
“It will be very difficult to improve, but it is always possible. We have many motivating challenges ahead of us and we will try to aim higher and higher.”

How are Morata and Fabian?
“At the moment they are fine. Morata has trained almost normally and is fine, he is almost in perfect condition. Fabián is better and I hope that he will be available tomorrow, both from the start and during the match. And the same with Morata.”
