Borja Valeroformer Inter and Fiorentina midfielder, spoke to Radio Serie A recalling some moments of his career: “I was an intelligent player, I played at certain levels despite my physical characteristics. I’m small, I’m not fast, I’m not good with my head… I had to develop tactical intelligence, I always tried to stay in the right place on the pitch to help my teammates, then I took care of the ball.”
This is his comment on his spell at Inter: “It wasn’t easy to leave Fiorentina, I thought I could end my career there. I had problems with the management at the time, they let me go telling me it would be better for the club. Inter and Spalletti gave me the opportunity to go to a big club in Italy. Everything changed, I arrived at an incredible club that welcomed me very well, but they had faith in me, especially Spalletti I gave it my all, I’m happy because we were part of the rebirth of Inter who then returned to fighting to win trophies.”
The relationship with Conte?
“He taught me a lot, at the beginning of the year he told me that I was out of everything he had in mind for the team. I stubbornly decided to stay because I thought I could help the team achieve its objectives. In the end, I I was able to play with a coach with that character. It was very important for me to have a coach of that category in front of me, a coach who gives you an incredible desire to win and who gives 110% in every training session. Inter did very well.”
