Federica Masolina well-known television presenter who – among other things – also covers the Champions League on Sky Sport, is among the protagonists of the 15th edition of the national award “La Clessidra” currently being held in Anghiari. These are the marginal words collected exclusively by TMW: “How do you evaluate this new version of the Champions League? I like it, at the beginning there was a bit of a need to understand this new formula which however gave us beautiful matches right from the start. Seeing big matches right from the start makes all even more fascinating.”

Is there a favorite of yours already today for the Champions League? “I would have said Real Madrid, but I was wrong seeing how they are today… There isn’t a favorite of mine yet, Liverpool is undoubtedly doing well on both fronts, who knows if they can maintain this pace until the end. It’s an unpredictable Champions League like we had imagined and dreamed.”

There is also great balance in the high ranking of the Italian championship: do you feel like you’re going too far? “I can say that the Champions League will also be able to have its weight within the championship, Napoli could be a little more advantaged from this point of view. Inter is very strong and Inzaghi’s rotations are showing that he has a squad to be able to fight on both fronts would be the culmination of a crazy journey. In short, the Italian championship will keep us attached until the end to see who will prevail.”

Fiorentina finds itself at the top after so many years: can it maintain this pace? “I hope so, it’s a wonderful place for the passion and energy that the fans have for the team. I think he’s found a good fit, I think he can return to Europe, he has every chance to do so.”

Milan disappointing in Cagliari after the success at the Bernabeu. “Football is also this, episodes and situations. I’m not a defeatist, I think a new coach needs time to work, let’s see before drawing the final conclusions. Of course, we expected a little bit of continuity, especially after the Bernabeu. Surely within Milan they will analyze the reasons why, and Leao will be a very important piece for what Milan wants to do between the championship and the cup.”
