Juventus continued its preparation for Continassa yesterday too. The Bianconeri, although without their 14 national teams, worked intensely, as explained by the club itself in an official note: “Second day of training at the Training Center for Juventus.
The players who remained in Turin, not involved with their respective national teams, met again today under the orders of Thiago Motta at the Juventus sports centre. Today’s work session began with a warm-up phase and then continued with athletic and technical work.” The team will also meet again this morning to continue preparation.
Juventus anxious for Juan Cabal.
For Juventus, however, bad news arrived yesterday. In fact, Juan Cabal was forced to leave the Colombian national team due to a knee injury. The Juventus number 32 was injured during training on Monday afternoon. At the moment we don’t know with certainty the extent of Cabal’s injury but the feeling is that it could be a very serious problem. In fact, it is possible that there is a rupture of the cruciate ligament and now we are just waiting for the tests to have the final verdict. Cabal is returning to Italy and once he arrives in Turin he will go to JMedical for the necessary investigations. If the cruciate rupture were to be official, it would be the second serious problem suffered by a Juventus player in the last month and a half. In fact, only last October 2nd, Gleison Bremer reported the knee injury that will keep him away from the pitch for the next six months.
Montero leaves Next Gen, Brambilla returns in his place.
Yesterday also marked the end of the relationship between Juventus and Paolo Montero. The Uruguayan coach was officially relieved of his role as coach of the Next Gen: “Juventus announces that today they have relieved Paolo Montero from the role of coach of the Next Gen. The Club thanks him for his efforts in this difficult situation start of the season with Next Gen, for the past two years, in which he managed the then Juventus Under 19 team, as well as for his willingness to take on the role of coach of the First Team in the final part of the Championship 2023/24. The Club also wishes to confirm that Montero, his values and his experience, gained first as a champion on the pitch and then as a coach, will always be at home at Juventus and that, consequently, Juventus will always be his home.” Massimo Brambilla has officially returned to replace Paolo Montero, as communicated by Juventus itself: “Massimo Brambilla returns to lead the Next Gen. The Lombard coach, who today signed a contract until 30 June 2025, has already coached the second Juventus team for two seasons, from 2022 to the summer of 2024, reaching the final of the Italian Cup in his first season in Serie C and, last year, the qualification to the playoffs. Brambilla will be supported in his role by assistant coach Christian Terni and athletic trainer Alberto Pasini, who will join the technical staff of Next Gen. Best wishes for good work go to Mr. Brambilla and his collaborators.”
