What could be the progress of the championship until Christmas? Difficult to say, but Napoli probably have the simplest matches between a Roma which is in a crisis of results, both corporate and technical, and Lazio, at the San Paolo, plus three fairly simple matches for the post. Inter are six points lower than a year ago, a situation not so different from Juventus who are four points worse off than during the Allegri era. Upon returning there will be Milan-Juve, a match that could be worth a lot both for Paulo Fonseca and for the Bianconeri, two points away from the top but with five teams ahead. Roma, on the other hand, will have their work cut out for them: Napoli and Atalanta in a row, with Tottenham in the Europa League in between. The risk of losing three games (again) is palpable.
Milan, two big matches before the Champions League commitments. Then three not impossible games
Rome, thrilling double after the break. Roma risks three defeats (in a row) against Tottenham
Juventus, would Thiago Motta be saved if the season ended today? Milan are back
Lazio, three direct clashes before Christmas. But Lotito has got all the moves right (so far).
Inter, two direct clashes away. But there is a -6 compared to last year that weighs
Atalanta, the big match is against Milan. Complicated away match against Roma
Fiorentina, return not easy with Como and Inter. Watch out for the Apennine derby
Naples, Christmas at the top? Two difficult matches against the Romans, three easier
