The former French ace Robert Pires shared his thoughts on the alleged conflict between Kylian Mbappé and Didier Deschamps. It was recently made known that the Real Madrid striker will not participate in France’s upcoming Nations League matches against Israel and Italy, but according to the former Arsenal player these are just baseless rumours.
“There is no conflict between Mbappé and Deschamps. Mbappé is simply not showing his usual level of performance at the moment, and Deschamps told him by telephone that he would not be called up to the national team. Mbappé is a very important player for France and, in my opinion, giving him a break right now is not a problem or a crisis,” Pires told MBC MASR 2.
Dayot Upamecano, defender of Bayern Munich and France, also spoke at the press conference from the retreat of Kylian Mbappe’s Le Bleus, absent from the squad due to a technical choice: “I have no worries. We must not forget what he did for this national team. there’s a bit of recognition towards him. I hope to see him again very soon, we must not forget that he is our captain. I said at the beginning of the season that there were many matches and that for us footballers, appearance matters a lot mental. I won’t go into details, but he is very important for us. He is a great player, also a friend. I know what he is capable of. I hope he comes back.
