The former Girona striker Artem Dovbyk received the prestigious Pichichi Award yesterday as top scorer, thanks to his 24 goals, of last season’s La Liga. “This is not my trophy; it is ours, it belongs to all my former teammates. We deserve it,” the Ukrainian player said in a video message, which he sent to the awards ceremony for the 2023/24 individual titles.
The Ukrainian succeeds some pretty good players, given that in the previous season the award had gone to Robert Lewandowski, the year before to Karim Benzema and the year before that to Lionel Messi.
