Cristiano Giuntoli, head of the technical area of Juventusspeak to Sky Sports from the Charity Gala Dinner ‘Save the Date’, a charity initiative held in Milan: “We must give something back to those who are less fortunate, we jumped at this opportunity”.
Did you expect this ranking in Serie A?
“It’s the beauty of this championship, the many teams up there bring interest, which is good for everyone and gives the right pressure. We need a bit of time, there have been a few too many injuries but thanks to the coach and we’re there for the kids, let’s try to never stop dreaming.”
How is falling in love with Thiago Motta going?
“We are very happy with the work of the coach and all the boys, for their commitment and dedication. We started practically from scratch, changing our way of thinking, we are one of the youngest teams. We think week after week, convinced that the work can bring us more above.”
How beautiful is Locatelli’s call today?
“He is an extraordinary boy, very serious and applied, he has skills and is intelligent on the pitch, he knows how to move. The arrival of Motta can enhance his characteristics, this is proof of this.”
Savona also in the national team.
“We are happy and proud, he is a feather in the cap of the Juventus world and of those who raised him. He has technical, physical and also moral skills: he is a boy from another era. We thank the Juventus world for having raised him, but above all thank you to him, he is self-made, he has his feet on the ground and will make people talk about him. If I think about last year his growth was fast, if I think about this year it wasn’t.”
What can you tell us about Yildiz?
“The number 10 shirt is heavy at Juventus, we believe a lot in him and we think he has quality. But he’s also a 2005 player, you have to know how to wait for the right times and the right turns. It takes patience, he’s young but he’s doing well.”
Have you identified the defender’s profile for January? Could it be someone like Skriniar?
“Right now we look around, we know that the January market is very particular, things can change continuously. We are at the window, we evaluate situations but there isn’t one further ahead. The times are still very premature. It must be a a guy who is available and ready to question himself to be part of an important team like Juventus.”
