Turin, Cairo confirms himself as the most losing president in the history of Mole derbies

Toro loses another derby, but this is no longer news. Indeed, it has become the sad normality, especially since Urbano Cairo became president. Even before his thirty-first derbies he was by far the owner with the worst record against his cousins, but the tradition is becoming increasingly dark. In 31 matches against Juve there have been 24 defeats, the only victory came in 2015 with the Bianconeri already having the Scudetto sewn to their chest and here and there there have been a few draws, six in total. These are numbers that give him an average points of 0.29 per derby, even worse than Tilly Romero who in four matches with Juve never won but drew two. And Orfeo Pianelli is unattainable, at 1.43 and with 17 successes in 46 matches, even if in less than a month Cairo will surpass him as the longest-serving president in all of history. Meanwhile, the protest against him continues and he is also mocked by the Juventus fans, who during the party at the Stadium chanted “Jump with us, Urbano Cairo jump with us”. Those from Toro, on the other hand, try to make fun of it and have even launched a petition on the “Change.org” platform: it is titled “Let’s give a star to the Juventus Stadium for Urbano Cairo”, within a few months it has already well exceeded 300 signatures .

The one who really doesn’t laugh is Vanoli. Seven defeats in the last eight, three games in a row without a goal, a ranking that is starting to become worrying with the margin on the relegation zone becoming increasingly slim. “It was a special match, we lacked a pinch of courage and cheek: in the last three matches we scored zero goals, we have to find solutions” he explained after the defeat in the derby. “We are in a difficult moment, we all have to get out together and our championship starts from the next one (with Monza, ed.) – the analysis after the seventh thud in the last eight games – but I feel the trust of the club, I speak with the president . Reinforcements in January? Yes, I expect them immediately and I am convinced that it will happen.” And on the seasonal objectives: “I also said it when we were first in the standings, we must get to safety immediately – underlines Vanoli – and I never hid it from my boys: we also wanted to give joy to our fans in a special challenge like the derby, we tried but we couldn’t do it.”
