The match of the 14th day of the Serie C championship, Group A, was played yesterday Lecco and Virtus Verona, which ended with a score of 1-1. Despite the result that emerged at the ‘Rigamonti-Ceppi’, however, there was an unpleasant episode between the protagonists – he was unaware – the bluceleste goalkeeper Jacopo Furlan: when the stopwatch showed approximately 85 minutes, a firecracker was thrown onto the pitch, and the goalkeeper, believing it to be a smoke bomb, approached to throw it off the pitch, only to then witness the explosion at close range.
At the end of the match there was therefore a very heated argument between the goalkeeper and some fans in the corner, including the culprit of throwing the firecracker; Furlan in fact went hard-nosed under the Curvaso much so that he had to be carried to the changing rooms by four members of the team. Team, club and other fringe of fans, all lined up “in favor” of the goalkeeper.
And he also intervened on the matter after the match the Lecco coach Gennaro Volpe: “There is little to comment on – we read above leccochannelnews.it -, coming to watch a match must be a joy and a spectacle; these episodes must be kept out: the boy was quite disappointed by this thing, rightly so. Whoever has to pay, will pay: the fan has the right to applaud and whistle, but not the right to do what he did today (yesterday, ed.). Fortunately there were no physical consequences, Furlan was very tired and we are sorry.”
