Vincent Kompanycoach of Bayern Munich, spoke at a press conference today to present the Bundesliga match against St. Pauli. Fresh from the success against Benfica in the Champions League, the Bavarians are enjoying good form, with many players available to the Belgian coach. So is it time for a turnover? Not necessarily, says Kompany: “It’s not such a difficult moment for me at the moment. Quality and talent are always very important, we have two players for each of these positions.”
Kompany still sees a fresh team, a team in form, a team that in these conditions can give anyone a hard time: “If the boys behave as they are doing now it’s fantastic. Then it’s a question of freshness. We can alternate at right time. The players have experience and know that they can support and help each other.”
The point on injuries: “Things are going well for us, we don’t have any major defections for this trip to Hamburg. It’s important not to have too many injuries. I also feel that the team is fresh despite the number of games, mentally and physically.” For the Bavarians, only long-term absentees Boey (knee injury), Ito (foot injury), Pavlović (collarbone injury) and Stanišić (knee injury) will be unavailable.
