Genoa-Como 1-1, the report cards: Paz lights up, Da Cunha scores. Desirable as an area bomber

Final result: Genoa-Como 1-1

GENOA
Loyal 7 – With his long arms he manages to reach the heads of the Como players, confident in high exits. Nothing can be done on the goal of Laria’s advantage achieved by Da Cunha, he puts the blame on several occasions.

I want 7 – The speed of the ball turnover of Fabregas’ team puts him in a bit of difficulty. He starts the ball-and-chain action from the back and grows as the minutes go by and in injury time he finds the breakthrough that scores a well-deserved point for his team.

Vasquez 6 – Now more and more confident in the center of defense he who generally plays “arm” on the left. He keeps Cutrone at bay on his side by making use of his physical strength and in the anticipation and is invaluable in the final to thwart some white and blue opportunities.

Matturro 5 – Suffers Como’s raids on his side with Strefezza who often puts him in difficulty. Paz also missed on the occasion that brought the Como team one step away from doubling their score.

Sabelli 6 – Some mistakes in the defensive phase, then he gains more confidence and is found safe in the center of the area to remove some chestnuts from the fire for the rossoblù. Proactive in the push phase. From 80′ Zanoli sv

Frendrup 6 – One of those who Mister Gilardino asked to work overtime. It’s not easy to get through the traffic in the middle of the field but in the end he manages to hold on. From 70′ Pereiro 5.5 – He is slowly getting into shape but this evening there were too many errors especially on set pieces.

Badelj 5.5 – Always look for the first play in the middle of the field to try to escape the pressure of Cesc Fabregas’ players. He tries to bring order to the maneuver but in the end the Como midfield suffers.

Thorbsy 5.5 – He too, like everyone else, suffers from three races in one week. He doesn’t fail to battle in the middle of the pitch, he is seen less than usual in accompanying the action towards the opponent’s penalty area.

Martin 5 – In the push phase he shows good things, especially when he gets to the cross. Less so when he has to defend as he often suffers from the incursions of Strefezza on his side and Da Cunha. From 46′ Miretti 5.5 – Gilardino fielded him for the entire second half of the match, a few too many errors for the former Juventus player on a difficult evening for all his teammates. However, his is the corner from which the draw arises. From 95′ Marcandalli sv

Ekhator 6 – He could do better on Pinamonti’s throw when all alone in front of Reina he hits the Spanish goalkeeper. But he is everywhere and sacrifices himself a lot even in the coverage phase, recovering the ball even in his half of the pitch. From the 70th minute Balotelli 6 – Obviously he’s not in top condition but he’s very valuable in helping the team improve, earning several free kicks. Two parts of the match, two warnings.

Pinamonti 6 – How much does the lost ball that generates Como’s goal weigh in the evaluation. The performance, although not with many playable balls, is always of great dedication and in injury time he finds the assisted header for Vogliacco’s equalizer.

Alberto Gilardino 6 – It’s now a certainty: his Genoa never gives up. Even in a difficult match, the team followed him and recovered once again in injury time, demonstrating tenacity and extending the positive streak.

COMO (edited by Andrea Carlino)
Reina 6.5 – His experience proves to be fundamental in key moments of the match, with precise interventions and impeccable management of the penalty area. The confidence he transmits to his teammates is evident in every game situation, especially in the high exits where he shows all his technical baggage. He can’t do anything about Vogliacco’s goal.

Goldaniga 6.5 – A performance of substance, characterized by timely advances and constant attention in Pinamonti’s marking. His physical presence is felt in aerial clashes, while his ability to read situations allows the team to maintain defensive balance.

Dossena 6.5 – Natural rearguard leader, coordinates defensive movements with authority and precision. His ability to lead the department emerges particularly in situations of opposing pressure, where he demonstrates a cool head and clarity in his choices. Majestic performance crowned by decisive interventions.

Kempf 6.5 – Concentration characterize his test. Attentive in closing and precise in advances, he forms a reliable central pair with Dossena. The yellow card received did not affect his performance, keeping his attention high until the end.

Moreno 6 – His push on the wing is invaluable in the offensive phases, even if not always precise. The warning slightly limited their offensive propensity in the second half. From 82′ Sala sv

Engelhardt 6 – Good work as a filter in front of the defence, with a constant presence in key areas of the pitch. His ability to intercept opposing passing lines proves useful for the team’s balance.

From Cunha 7 – The goal (the first in Serie A) that unlocks the match is a jewel of precision and technique. His performance is not limited to the net, but extends to a constant movement between the lines which puts the Genoa midfielder in difficulty. From 82′ Braunoder sv

Peace 7 – Enlightened direction and quality in the plays, with different ideas that create numerical superiority. Player with a certain future: an assist for Da Cunha’s goal and more. His vision of the game allows the team to maintain possession in key moments. Only one flaw on Vogliacco’s goal: he loses it while marking.

Strength 6.5 – Intoxicating dribbling and sudden accelerations put the rossoblù defense in constant apprehension. His individual technique always creates dangerous situations. He comes close to scoring at the end, but finds Leali attentive. From 89′ Iovine sv

Fadera 6.5 – Constant movement and good understanding with teammates. His high pressing contributes to the recovery of the ball which leads to Da Cunha’s goal. From 89′ Verdi sv

Cutrone 6 – Valuable work for the team, with movements that open spaces for teammates. He comes close to doubling on several occasions. From 85′ Belotti sv

Cesc Fabregas 6.5 – Set up an intelligent match, with high pressing which puts Genoa’s build-up in difficulty. His team shows personality and a well-defined playing identity, coming close to a victory that would have been deserved. The table moves, but the goal scored in full injury time leaves a lot of regret.
