Curva Nord in controversy with Lecce: “Between budgets and capital gains, respect these people”

The Curva Nord of the Via del Mare stadium in Lecce has displayed a controversial banner against the club on the occasion of the match currently underway against Empolimatch valid for the 12th matchday of Serie A. “US Lecce: between balance sheets and capital gains, respect these people”, it says on the banner. It is a clear reference to what – for the Giallorossi people – were the too many transfers made by president Sticchi Damiani’s company in the last transfer market sessions.

In the pre-match, the Giallorossi sporting director Stefano Trinchera launched an appeal to the team which after eleven matchdays is in the relegation zone: “Tonight we need to rediscover our identity, over the years we have achieved extraordinary results with our spirit and recently this spirit has been missing. The data is a bit disconcerting, the scoring phase is very precarious and we concede too many goals. At home we have never lacked so far in spirit, we start from a solid base with nine starters from last season and therefore the conditions are there, but we need to improve on obvious critical issues.”
