Juventus will return to work at Continassa today after the 1-1 draw at Lille. Yesterday, Thiago Motta rested his team to recharge their batteries as soon as possible in view of the championship match against Torino, in the Mole derby. However, it will be an intense Thursday at Juventus, because the annual Shareholders’ Meeting will be held today, at 10am, in the conference room of the Allianz Stadium.
Motta ready to field Yildiz-Conceicao also in the championship.
At the start of the season, Thiago Motta has never lined up Yildiz and Conceicao together from the first minute in the league. Both players were among the best on the pitch in the Champions League match against Lille and are in the running for a starting shirt in Saturday’s derby against Torino. The Juventus coach responded as follows as to why he hadn’t yet focused on the two players in the league too: “I hadn’t noticed before the match… Today (Tuesday ed.) I put them on because they’re fine, they’re in shape, Lille are he closed very well and knew how to restart. One-on-one, they have the quality to annoy teams that close so well. I especially liked the second half, we found the one-on-one where we needed to and created many chances. I am satisfied with the performance of both of them.” Now only time will tell us whether Conceicao and Yildiz will start from the first minute together in Serie A too.
Nico Gonzalez will remain in Turin during the break.
Nico Gonzalez remains in doubt for the Mole derby. The Argentine winger has been out of action since 2 October, when he suffered a muscle problem in the first half of the match against Leipzig. The Juventus number 11, however, was recently called up by Scaloni for the next World Cup qualifying matches awaiting the Seleccion. Despite this, however, Nico Gonzalez will not leave for South America to answer the call of his coach, but will remain in Turin to recover in the best possible way from the low-grade injury to the rectus femoris of his right thigh. The Argentine winger is a very important piece for Juventus and his absence in this intense cycle of matches has been felt. Thiago Motta, however, still hopes to be able to call him up for the match against Torino.
