Barça is chasing Mourinho’s Real Madrid: the goal is to surpass 121 goals in La Liga

A real goal machine. The Barcelona flies in the championship thanks above all to a truly atomic attack; not only is Robert Lewandowski but also Raphinha, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal are dragging the Blaugrana, leading LaLiga with 9 points ahead of Real Madrid.

The numbers are record-breaking: in 12 days Barça has already scored 40 goals. This means that he could surpass the record held by José Mourinho’s Real Madrid, who scored 121 goals in the entire championship in the 2011/12 season. If Flick’s team manages to maintain this average, they could finish with 127 goals.

That Real won the championship ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona thanks to the frightening performances of the attacking trident, formed by Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuaín and Karim Benzema: the three of them scored 89 of the team’s 121 total goals, the Portuguese alone scored 46. The record of the Catalans, however, dates back to the 2016/17 season, when the team led by Luis Enrique and led by the best trident in its history (Messi, Neymar and Luis Suárez) closed the championship with 116 centres.
