Now there are really no more doubts, the news already has the trappings of officiality: Ruben Amorim will be the new manager of Manchester Unitedwill take up the job at Old Trafford from 11 November, when club football gives way to the international break.
Sporting CP has issued a press release with the sums collected since Amorim’s departure: “Sporting SAD, pursuant to and for the purposes of the information obligation established by article 17 of Regulation (EU) no. 596/2014, of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April, communicates the following following the press release issued to transfer market on 29 October 2024: Sporting SAD has reached an agreement with Manchester United FC (hereinafter MUFC) regarding the terms and conditions of the exit of manager Rúben Amorim, for which MUFC will pay Sporting SAD 11,000,000 euros. Furthermore, Sporting SAD will benefit from 1,658,000 euros relating to the extinction of credit rights, registered as liabilities and contingent liabilities, following the revocation and renegotiation of contracts relating to brokerage commissions”.
In the meantime, Amorim wants to say goodbye in the best possible way and he also showed proof of this in the advance of the 10th round: Sporting collected their tenth victory out of ten, overwhelming Estrela Amadora 5-1 with four goals scored by Gyokeres and confirming their lead in the league. Certainly part of his thoughts are already in Manchester, but on Amorim’s part there is a desire to leave nothing to chance.
