Eleven on the report card, but in three games. This is Danilo’s roster during his last appearances as a starter against Juventus. With Parma he was “only” in trouble staying behind the various ducal attackers, but in the two previous matches he had conceded one penalty per match against Inter, due to a striking knockdown by Thuram – almost comical – as well as the one against Stuttgart, when his intervention had also led to the second yellow card, equivalent to the expulsion for the last minutes. It had no impact on the change in the result, given Perin’s save, but Stuttgart’s final assault was rightly missing a man.
Was this why Thiago Motta kept him on the bench? After the request to remove the automatic renewal clause, the feeling is that there has been a problem from a trust point of view and that he no longer feels he is untouchable, with his performance degrading, not even very slowly. The only sufficiencies? When he played for less than one half, taking over.
