After the dismissal of Mr. Mario Tacchinardiwho arrived yesterday after the weekend’s defeat against Calvi Noale, the Mestre has chosen the new coach, fishing among the emerging coaches: the bench of the Venetian team, in fact, has been entrusted to Romano Perticone, who last year, having hung up his boots, first became assistant at Treviso and then coach of the first team, in the final rush of the Serie D season. Now a new adventure has begun, and it was the club itself who announced it.
“An important career as a footballer, with his debut at the Meazza in 2005 with the AC Milan shirt, Perticone subsequently wore the shirts of numerous professional teams, including Verona, Livorno, Empoli, Salernitana and Cittadella.
He ended his career with the Treviso shirt last season, then also becoming coach, taking over from Florindo, with a score of 4 wins and 2 defeats.
A sudden choice, that of last season but certainly not random: the coach – 38 years old, originally from Melzo (MI) – was already studying to be a “mister” by participating in the Coverciano courses for the UEFA qualification”.
Again on the club’s official channels, his first words as an orange player: “I am excited but also very determined. I am aware of arriving in an important place like the Mestre one. I have followed the team in this last period and I believe that basically there is good potential to do well, even if I realize that if I’m here, obviously, there are problems to solve, net of the game system that we will adopt, it is my intention to bring to the locker room what have always been my characteristics and how first thing, starting tomorrow, I will work on my attitude and mentality.”
