Napoli achieved a huge success at the San Siro, their fifth in a row in the championship. Against Milan, Antonio Conte’s team won 2-0 thanks to goals scored in the first half by Romelu Lukaku and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. A performance of great defensive solidity provided by the Neapolitan team which for the third match in a row did not concede a goal: after the three goals conceded in Verona against Hellas on 18 August, Napoli conceded only two goals in the following nine games.
At the end of the match, this is Antonio Conte’s analysis: “I suffer because I would like to win them all. We prepared for this match with just one training session having played on Saturday. I thank the staff and the people who are constantly stressed, I ask a lot of myself and also of others. Everyone’s availability is the thing that makes me I like it more, together with the unity of purpose. The team has scored a lot of points but we will have to be prepared even when there are some setbacks. We want to make our fans proud with this group, they are open in what we do.”
And again: “After ten days we are doing something incredible and unexpected. Not even the craziest could think of it but we remain humble and with our feet on the ground.”
