Man United, former Scholes: “I know little about Amorim, I would wait to sign him. Tuchel was better”

Soon Reuben Amorim he will become the new manager of Manchester United, replacing Erik ten Hag, who was sacked in recent days. He focuses on the matter Paul Scholesa legend of the Red Devilswho has his say on the Portuguese coach on ‘The Overlap’ podcast: “In England we don’t watch Portuguese football much, so we don’t know much about it. I’ve seen Amorim and Sporting in Europe and all the things we hear about him are good : Exciting football, with three defenders and based on ball possession, could be exciting in the Premier League too.”

However, the former England midfielder makes a particular request: “I know he should sign in the next few days or hours, but Sporting will face Manchester City next week and Arsenal in the next three or four weeks (November 26, ed.). It could be an opportunity to give him a public interview, see how he handles the media and how his team plays.”

Scholes, however, would have liked another name for the post-ten Hag: “I think Thomas Tuchel was the right one to coach Manchester United, but obviously now he is the new manager of England and you couldn’t get him. Tuchel is someone who knows how to manage top teams, he knows how to win big matches, He’s already played a lot of them and he’s done it.”
