Hellas Verona in crisis, evaluations underway on Zanetti: the bench is now creaking

Further and further down, third consecutive defeat for theHellas Verona Of Paolo Zanetti upon returning from Lecce with broken bones again in what should have been the evening of redemption after the horror Saturday in Bergamo and which instead ended up reviewing once again all the fragilities of a team which, to date, seems completely lost. Precisely for this reason Zanetti himself is also at risk. His position, at the moment, is decidedly shaky. The former Empoli and Venezia coach was confirmed after the six goals at the Gewiss Stadium, but after the defeat in Salento – we read in today’s edition of The Press – could be relieved of his duties in the next few hours.

Yesterday after the defeat against Lecce Paolo Zanetti expressed himself like this in a press conference: “Only Hellas matters, the coach doesn’t matter. Verona must save themselves, they know how many victories they have to achieve in a championship and how many draws. It’s a difficult moment, we know this championship. Absolutely no comparison. I have to find the positive things not in the result, but in the different attitude taken by the boys. Getting out of a situation like that wasn’t easy but I’m not one to give up We scored 9 points but it doesn’t mean we’ve solved our problems; in times when we didn’t suspect we were talking about unity. Not all games are the same. We didn’t deserve to lose they lost some confidence. I recovered it with work, attitude and new energy on the pitch and I’m sorry because Verona doesn’t deserve this period and this place deserves more important championships.”
