Crotone, Longo: “The club gave me time, I didn’t expect it”

The Crotone breaks the bank Giugliano and the rise in the rankings continues. Emilio Longocoach of the Pythagoreans, analyzes the match:

“The match went as I thought – we read above TuttoC.com -, not with respect to the result otherwise I would be considered presumptuous. Giugliano tried to dominate the match right from the start, we had to restart and we did it very well. As the minutes went by we managed to dribble better, I really liked the second goal because we came out of a ferocious pressure from Giugliano. The data on shots on goal say that we were superior, we won a dirty match, against a very strong opponent and coached by a very high level coach. We take home three points with great satisfaction. Everyone gave their contribution and I want to underline the sacrifice of players like Tumminello and Gomez.”

The Calabrians have been on a positive streak for three matchdays, after going through a period of crisis in results: “I didn’t expect to be so supported by the owners, in other environments this wouldn’t have happened. The teams that started very well are the ones that had the time factor to their advantage. Giugliano has 7-8 identical elevens to last year, we have a new team and a different technical guide. A turning point match? I just hope that the team continues to work following the principles of the game that we propose. The club has asked me to start a new project, also with the valorisation of young people and to produce something over the course of two years. Crotone wants to return to being a glorious club and a club where everyone wants to send young people to grow. The first objective is salvation, then from there we will look for a better position. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves and I take responsibility for it.”
