With the 0-0 draw against Bari on Friday evening, Spezia extended its streak of consecutive useful matches by continuing to maintain its unbeaten streak this season, a record at European level – as regards the second divisions of the five top continental championships – which until yesterday was shared with the Germans of Karlsruhe.
The latter, however, were defeated in the top-of-the-table clash with Hertha Berlin who conquered the Karlsruhe field with a clear 3-1, putting an end to their unbeaten season and placing themselves in the wake of their opponents in a very tight fight for promotion which sees five teams within just three points.
