The Pescara gets three precious points at Bring Elisa against Lucchese, consolidating the lead in group B. Baldini’s team secures the result already in the first half: after just a minute, Merola hits the post and the ball, bouncing off Palmisani, ends up in the net for Abruzzo’s lead. The Lucchese goalkeeper had another unlucky evening in the 32nd minute, when he committed a foul on Tonin, allowing Merola to score the penalty and put Pescara 2-0. In the 38th minute a new penalty, again earned by Tonin, allows Merola to make it 3-0, virtually putting an end to the match.
In the second half, Magnaghi closed the gap with a quarter of an hour to go, but the result remained unchanged. With this victory, Pescara rises to 26 points, trailing their pursuers Ternana, Entella, Torres and Arezzo by four points, with one match still to recover. Lucchese, however, remains stuck at 12 points, missing the opportunity to enter the playoff zone.
