Not an easy moment forAnconacurrently in twelfth place in the Serie D Group F standings, with nine points gained in the eight matches played so far. As can be read on the club’s official channels, to take stock of the situation, the president Massimiliano Polci: “As president of Ssc Ancona I intend to reiterate the union that exists in the company, a union that was strengthened at the time of my appointment and that of the other positions on the board of directors. In recent months, as was right considering the experience of the people we assigned to build and manage the team, we let the technical department work without interference of any kind, providing them with all the tools necessary to best carry out the task entrusted to them.
We know very well the skills and passion of the honorary president and technical manager, Vincenzo Guerini, of our coach Massimo Gadda and of all the other people in charge of carrying our team forward from a technical-tactical point of view; without forgetting the proven and evident professionalism of the general director Francesco Ancarani and the sporting director Pietro Tamai.
Also on behalf of my partner Stefano Marconi, I reiterate our readiness to intervene at any time as a seal of the confirmed trust we have given to the technical staff which is in no way in question. Therefore, as we were expressly requested, and considering the difficult moment that Ssc Ancona is going through, we will intervene by reminding the whole team of their responsibilities, trying not least to make the players understand the weight of the red and white shirt.
Tomorrow we will be as a club at the training ground during the finishing touches that precede the match against Recanatese, to reiterate, where necessary, the responsibility they accepted when they became Ancona players. We are not asking for victories but for the commitment to take the field to win. Nothing is lost, we are at the beginning of a long journey which initially gave us a lot of satisfaction and enthusiasm but which in the last few days, on the contrary, has manifested itself with some uncertainty; days in which the defeats of Teramo arrived, the home defeat against Civitanovese for the undeserved truth and the very bad figure of Termoli. I can add that I will never want to see figures like Termoli’s again and together with the whole club and all the technical staff we will work to ensure that they don’t happen again. The promise I make to all the fans and the red and white people is that the shirt will always be honoured.
I thank all the fans for always supporting us, doing so in the midweek round and also for the polite protest carried out by leaving the Molise stadium before the end of the match. However, I would like to reiterate that we will not accept assumptions about our actions given that we have let the team lack nothing in recent months; something easily witnessed.
There was an unexpected moment of impasse for everyone from which, however, we will emerge together with unity, professionalism and unity of purpose, demonstrating a great spirit of sacrifice. SSC Ancona does not shy away from its responsibilities, aware of the burden and honor of having taken on the task together of restoring dignity to Doric football betrayed last June.”
