Twente, Unnerstall: “I know I made things difficult with the red card. I was hoping for Dia to be offside”

Lars Unnerstallgoalkeeper of Twentewas sent off after 11 minutes against Lazio in the match valid for the third day of the Europa League. In the interview he gave after the match, the goalkeeper explained his intervention to Ziggo Sports: “I tried to take the ball, but it was too late and I hit him. At first I was hoping for offside, so I waited a little longer before going in. When after the intervention it was clear that it wasn’t offside, I came in straight away. I know it made things more difficult for the boys, it’s not something you want. I think we played quite well, we often took the ball away and they didn’t have many big chances either. I have a lot of respect for these kids.”
