There Rome gets his first victory in the Europa League against the Dynamo Kievwinning 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium. A significant success, not only for the standings, but also for the mood of the team, which despite not shining in terms of playing quality, managed to achieve the result.
Despite the criticism for the unconvincing performance, coach Juric had already predicted that the moment would come when results would prevail over performances. And so it was: despite not displaying spectacular football, the team brought home three crucial points.
Contrary to the expectations of many, Juric decided not to revolutionize the formation, fielding the same eleven: Svilar in goal; Celik, N’Dicka and Hermoso in defense, Kone, Le Fee, Pisilli and Angelino in midfield; with Baldanzi and Zalewski behind Dovbyk in attack.
It was the Ukrainian who decided the match, finally managing to score against Dinamo Kiev, an opponent he had never managed to beat in six previous matches. The goal, which came from a penalty kick scored by Baldanzi, allows Roma to move up to four points, but the team is still in 19th place in the standings.
The match, however, was not without risks. Two errors, in particular, could have compromised the result: a wrong pass by Le Fee which triggered a counterattack which was not completed by the opponents and the failure to finish by Eldor Shomourodov, who missed a clear scoring opportunity in a situation that seemed already decided .
In summary? A victory of great value for the Giallorossi, but which also highlights the need to improve in terms of play to face more demanding challenges.
