Roma are ahead 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico at the end of the first half of the match against Dinamo Kiev. Ivan Juric’s team decided the first half with a penalty won by Baldanzi and converted by Dovbyk: the Ukrainian center forward was good at wrong-footing Neshcheret and breaking the deadlock in a match that Svilar and his teammates are leading with aggression and consistency up until now.
With Baldanzi and Pisilli behind Dovbyk, Juric lined up his team with a rather rational turnover: Le Fee in the control room, Hummels still on the bench even at the cost of deploying Celik as an assistant. The start of the match was all Giallorossi-tinged and the goal, albeit from the penalty spot, seemed like the natural consequence. Free to vary across the attacking midfield, Baldanzi was the protagonist of an excellent first half: a penalty awarded, but also many plays that created problems in the last 30 metres.
Dynamo Kiev was totally absent for about half an hour. Not received. It only woke up in the 34th minute when a serious error in support of Le Fee allowed Tymchyk to kick all alone in front of Svilar after a delicious spoonful from Guerrero: the ball went out by a whisker. In the final, Voloshyn also had a goal disallowed due to an obvious offside position.
