Palladino and Colpani are determined: Fiorentina cannot afford to underestimate San Gallo

A few more hours and it will be time for Fiorentina to play their second match in the Conference League maxi-group, the first away. Palladino’s Viola are awaited by the commitment on the pitch of the Swiss team of San Gallo, still stuck at zero in the standings and with six goals conceded on their debut against Cercle Bruges.

There is a bit of risk of underestimation in games like this. Raffaele Palladino also seems to know this, so much so that the Fiorentina coach hit this button several times during the presentation press conference: “My boys don’t know the word ‘underestimate’. I’m sure that whoever takes the field tomorrow he knows he has to give 100%, San Gallo will put us in difficulty in front of their fans. We don’t underestimate anything, whoever plays tomorrow will have to fight. But I’m sure of it, I have a great group of great men and after Lecce we will get straight into it this match.”

Andrea Colpani spoke to him, fresh from the brace in Lecce which allowed him to break the deadlock with Fiorentina. An important aspect to feel less pressured and more serene, as he himself made clear: “I’m happy to have unblocked myself and removed some of the dust in terms of scoring. As the coach said, tomorrow we face a strong team, which has quality up front and if we’re not careful it could put us in difficulty. We should have been as good as we were in Lecce, I’m sure we’ll have a great match.” In any case, this time it shouldn’t be a challenge. At least not initially.
