Lazio started strong, convinced of their abilities and in the 11th minute they already found the turning point of the match: Pellegrini’s vertical pass for Dia, who jumped Unnerstall and was mowed down by the opposing goalkeeper. Red card, Twente with 10 men and a match immediately uphill for the Dutch. The first real opportunity for the Romans came in the 20th minute, thanks to an excellent shot from Zaccagni, who launched a cross shot with the left foot from inside the area which almost found Vecino. In the 23rd minute it was Dia who tried to turn a cross from Marusic, which however found new entry Tyton on its path. The Biancoceleste team inevitably presses and a minute later hits the post with an inspired Marusic, author of a dangerous cross untouched by anyone which hits the upright. Baroni’s men finally broke the deadlock in the 35th minute with a good move on the right: verticalization by Pellegrini for Vecino, stop and low cross backwards by the Uruguayan and right-footed shot by Pedro, who with half the goal unguarded had no difficulty scoring . In the 41st minute, Lazio came very close to doubling their lead with Gigot who, excellently served by a backheel from Tchaouna, tried a one-on-one ‘scavetto’ with Tyton, finding a prompt response from the goalkeeper. In the 44th minute it was Pellegrini’s turn, who after exchanging with Zaccagni, kicked hard from a tight angle, but Tyton was once again ready, as well as Marusic’s right-foot shot from distance. The advantage is therefore minimal in the 45th minute, but the quality put on the pitch by Lazio is great.
