“There is a huge difference between Primavera and the ‘big boys’, if by playing the first team you think you are at a good level, but when you come up against the football of the big boys the difference is substantial. In the Primavera, if you draw or lose a match, little changes, while with the big boys everything changes.” This is what the Lumezzane goalkeeper says Stefano Filigheddu during the program ‘A Tutta C’ broadcast on the frequencies of TMW Radio then focusing on the experience in the Lombard club.
How important is it to grow hand in hand with a continuously developing project like the Lumezzane project?
“It’s a beautiful thing that gives you so many positive feelings. It’s very stimulating and loads you with responsibility. We must always work towards the new objectives that society sets.”
Your management is made up of field figures such as Caracciolo and Pesce. How important is the relationship with them?
“It’s very important, the off-field figures are fundamental on a professional and personal level. The experience with the President in Caracciolo was valuable, because already in the locker room he was an important figure, but at the same time available to us young people. Pesce, on the other hand, was fundamental to all the victories we achieved and now as director he is close to us every day. Both Franzini and the goalkeeping coach were very important.”
What mental steps did you take to reach your current level?
“It certainly wasn’t easy in the past to start from second, but it certainly helps the environment you’re in. In Franciacorta it was perhaps a somewhat particular environment and since I wasn’t at one hundred percent there I wasn’t able to express my qualities. At Lumezzane I immediately felt the trust of everyone, the coach and the management. Above all, the goalkeeping coach Fabio Patuzzi is a great example to me and gives me a lot of advice. I knew that Lumezzane would be an important opportunity and I think my characteristic was to always be ready; I think it’s fundamental because sooner or later the opportunity arises during the season.”
How proud is it to have reached one hundred appearances with the Lumezzane shirt?
“It’s a pride first of all because Lumezzane saw me grow when I was a kid, I’m very happy. I think the championship victories are emblematic of this experience, but also the debut among professionals and the fact of touring the most important stadiums. I showed some people that I know how to perform on certain stages, it’s a personal pride.”
