Vinicius jr.: “Golden Ball? On Monday I would like the support of all the Brazilian fans. I’m happy”

Vinicius Jr. he was the absolute protagonist of last night’s Champions League. The Brazilian striker scored a hat-trick in Real Madrid’s 5-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund, the first in Europe’s top competition: “I am simply very happy to be able to reciprocate all the affection shown by this team, by the president and by all the people who believed in me when I was just 16 years old,” he said in an interview with TNT Sports Brasil.

“When I was in Rio de Janeiro and at Flamengo they did everything possible to bring me here and it was a very long process. Until today’s match, where I scored the first hat-trick in the Champions League, I grew every match and every year; only 24 years old and I have managed to learn from the best footballers and the best people. This makes me a better person and a better player but I want to continue to grow. It was a dream as a child to be able to play with the best in the world, I want to make history like Marcelo, Casemiro, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo…”.

Ballon d’Or 2024: “The fans of Brazil and around the world are always important. They always supported me when I arrived here at 18. I always said that I wanted all Brazilians to support me to win this award and that I hope May Monday be like this.”
