De Laurentiis opens up about Kvaratskhelia’s farewell. Soon the new meeting, but there is distance

Napoli fans are shaking. The future of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in blue is in the balance, thanks to a renewal that never arrived, and the words of Aurelio De Laurentiis, owner of the Neapolitan club, do not make those who have rejoiced over and over again thanks to the Georgian’s plays and goals in the his first two years in Italy: “There have been previous cases, if he goes away we will deal with it. It is important to respect the wishes of the players, but also that of the club”. A short statement which, however, says a lot, given that at the moment there is a distance between the player’s request of eight million euros per season and the offer from Napoli, willing to reach a maximum of six, bonuses included.

A meeting scheduled.
Much more will be known in November, as Kvara’s agents will meet the Italian management to discuss the renewal. An extension which, despite the victory of the scudetto in the 2022/2023 season with the Georgian as the absolute protagonist, never arrived and this has meant that relations have become more rigid, given that the footballer currently receives a salary of less than two million to season. Too little for his value, but Aurelio De Laurentiis himself never made the decision to reward his player and now it could be too late.

Last summer’s rejection.
In the latest transfer window, Napoli rejected a €100m offer from PSG, with Antonio Conte playing a key role in the decision to retain the winger. On that occasion the Parisian club offered a salary of around 11 million euros a year for the boy and this makes it clear how much he could ask for if he were to make the decision to leave Napoli. Nothing is ruled out for now, neither permanence, complete with renewal, nor farewell, but De Laurentiis’ words open to the possible end of the love story between Kvara and the Neapolitans.
