The Top 11 of Serie B: Berardi still protagonist. Meulensteen and Vido shine

Focus TMW

The ninth day of Serie B ended with the victories of the top four in the class (Pisa, Spezia, Sassuolo and Cremonese), highlighting the discontinuity of some big names such as Palermo, Bari and Sampdoria and certifying the crisis of a Frosinone which is now last in ranking equal to Cosenza, however penalized by four points. A day full of goals with resounding results (5-3 for Samp in Cesena, 5-2 for Sassuolo in Brescia) and many protagonists on the shields.

Below is the Top 11 of the 9th day of Serie B according to the TMW report cards (lineup 4-2-3-1):

Semper (Pisa) 7 -He can’t do much about Tait’s momentary lead goal, otherwise he has to do very little, just to control the opposing crosses. Then he performs a miracle to save the result on Merkaj.

Doig (Sassuolo) 7 – A perfect match, taking into account that he didn’t get any assists or goals on the scoresheet. A continuous run on the wing, proactive and often a winner, even touching the net.

Caldara (Modena) 7 – Great game, both defensively and in the opponent’s area when he scored a goal in the old Atalanta style.

Bertola (Spezia) 7 – It only takes a few seconds for the defender to get on the scoresheet: header with insertion from Esposito’s corner and 2-0. Devastating impact for the centre-back.

Dorval (Bari) 7 – He finds the goal that unlocks the game with an insertion from midfield and demonstrates that he also has important offensive skills. A goal that wasn’t enough to bring home the three points but still gave his team a point.

Meulensteen (Sampdoria) 7.5 – It is one of the most anticipated moves in Sottil’s lineup. He proves to be very effective in front of goal, a quality that was still missing from Doria’s midfield. First career double for the Dutchman, making his third appearance as a starter in the championship.

Hojholt (Pisa) 7 – He is the one who immediately made his team ring the “alarm clock”, after a subdued start, both in words and in deeds, you see a couple of effective defensive actions. He shoots when he can and then serves the perfect assist for Lind.

Berardi (Sassuolo) 7 – He takes over and, just like last day, he participates: double assist in the last two goals for the neroverdi.

Soleri (Spezia) 7 – Try not to give any reference points to the grenade rearguard. At the first real opportunity, he takes advantage of the space available and invents a play that takes his team forward: the overhead kick is a sweet tasting postcard for him.

Vido (Reggiana) 7.5- He scores the brace that decides the match, after a difficult period he provides an incredible performance, made up not only of goals, but also of the service given to the team.

Iemmello (Catanzaro) 7 – We don’t see much during the match but he is the technical leader of the group and he demonstrates it in the most important moment when he takes advantage of La Mantia’s support and hits Radunovic as an expert striker in this category.
