Carrarese, historic day: farewell to Pisa, with Mantua for the first time at home in Serie B at Dei Marmi

“We’re finally home!”. Thus begins the official note published by Carrarese ahead of the match against Mantua. For the first time, in fact, the Tuscan team will play at the Dei Marmi stadium after the necessary works. Below is the club’s statement: “We are on the eve of the match Carrarese – Mantua, which will finally be played at the Dei Marmi stadium – 4 Azzurri Olympians from Carrara. The first match in B for the city system. A match that has been missing for 76 years for our fans

It is necessary to celebrate the eve of this event by offering various thanks. A deep thank you to the Lega Serie B and the FIGC for the constant support provided and for the collaboration shown. A heartfelt thank you to our players, the staff, Mister Calabro, the staff, the suppliers and the sponsors for their patience and dedication during these difficult months of constant travel and precariousness. And thanks to Ricortola, Montignoso and Seravezza who collaborated to neutralize this precariousness by opening their doors to us.

A big thank you to the city of Pisa, to the Pisa Sporting Club, to the Prefect of Pisa Dr. Maria Luisa D’Alessandro, to the Police Commissioner of Pisa Dr. Raffaele Gargiulo and to all the fans and Pisan citizens who hosted us and demonstrated friendship in a time of difficulty.

Our great gratitude also goes to the Prefect of Massa Carrara and to all the members of the various supervisory commissions, who guaranteed maximum presence and dedication to allow the appropriate checks to be carried out in time to ensure our return. Last, and certainly not least, a big thank you to the Municipality of Carrara, which despite the objective organizational difficulties and its own management limitations, completed the first phase of the works to adapt the Municipal Stadium to the technical parameters envisaged for the B series, finally allowing us this eve!

We are grateful to our fans who followed us, encouraged and supported us even far from Carrara, facing many away trips and the related costs, waiting for the adaptation work on our stadium to be completed. Now, together with the coach and the team, we can’t wait to embrace them all again, certain that, in our Stadium, our opponents will find the same sporting fervor as the past historic season.

While waiting for the works that will allow us to permanently expand the capacity of the stadium, in the meantime we’ll see you for the ninth day of the Serie B championship, the first real home match for Carrarese, Sunday 20 October, 3.00 pm at the Stadio dei Marmi in Carrara”.
