Liverpool, Alisson out. Slot has already chosen the stopgap: “Kelleher is a good replacement”

It’s time for the English team to get back on the field too and tomorrow there will be a great big match, Liverpool-Chelsea. The ranking imposes on the Reds not to lose ground considering Manchester City and Arsenal are breathing down their necks, but on this occasion Arne Slot doesn’t want to underestimate even one detail. And the health of the players will be vital in terms of the result.

Among those unavailable to the Dutch coach, obviously, is the starting goalkeeper Alisson Becker out due to a hamstring injury suffered against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. During the press conference the former Feyenoord coach confirmed his absence: “Alisson will definitely not be with us in the next few weeks – said Slot -, that’s clear. It’s a bad blow for him and for us, because I think that he has done very well this season and he has done very well for this club for many years.”

The replacement is soon decided. And moreover he had already replaced Alisson with the injury suffered previously in this unfortunate start to the season: “The positive thing, and I have said it several times, is that Caoimhin (Kelleher, ed.) has done well for us in previous years and this season too, so we have a good replacement. But we always want to have all our players available.”
