The renewal of Vlahovic, the strategies to bring the budget back to par and patience on the market and in the objectives to be achieved. Juventus is only at the beginning of the new cycle. Zero expenses in January: hunt for defender

The new Juventus has just been born, it is in no hurry and has clear objectives in mind, for the present and the future. After a management that brought many trophies but also a clear problem from the budget point of view, the new course began, with Cristiano Giuntoli at the helm of management and Thiago Motta to lead the team, without hassles, without wanting to bite off more than you can chew, and with ideas firmly fixed in your mind. Step by step, the Bianconeri want to return to being what history has always told us: a winning club. In between there will be many steps to take, starting with the cancellation of that red in the accounts, which should become reality by the next budget closing.

The strategy between farewells and purchases.
In the summer the market saw a real revolution at Juve, with many new faces made available to a new coach, and with the operation in goal, linked to the farewell of Szczesny and the arrival of Di Gregorio, who he talked a lot. Some people turned up their noses, others tried to understand the reason for this change, but the matter is very simple: on the one hand the Pole left through the termination of the contract, complete with severance pay paid by the Old Lady ( who still saved 2 million after the goalkeeper signed with Barcelona), on the other hand one of the best goalkeepers of last season arrived, from Monza, for 18 million euros. Thinking about this operation, without studying it in depth, the first sensation one may have is that at the budget level the Turin company has lost out, but analyzing everything one sees that in the end the economic deal was made by the Juventus. All linked to salaries, given that, speaking of gross, it went from 15 million for Szczesny to 3.5 for Di Gregorio. It goes without saying that the cost of the price tag takes second place and operations like these will be carried out in almost all roles, even in the next transfer sessions.

Vlahovic’s renewal.
In the coming months one of the hottest topics will be the extension of Dusan Vlahovic’s contract, currently expiring on 30 June 2026. By Christmas Giuntoli and the attacker’s agent will sit down to try to find an agreement, but Juventus he is in no hurry and, above all, he is not afraid of losing the Serbian to zero, at the natural expiration of his agreement. Looking back, a farewell on 30 June 2026 would be in some ways similar to that of Gianluigi Donnarumma at Milan, in the summer of 2021, and we all know what happened a year later, with the Rossoneri winning their nineteenth scudetto. The offer will be made to extend the agreement by one or two years, it will be very good, but it will be difficult to start from the 12 million euros currently received by the former Fiorentina player. The same thing also happened with Paulo Dybala, who said goodbye to Juve on a free transfer. There will be no chase on the part of the club towards the center forward. If he wants to stay at Juventus, an agreement will have to be found that will make the player happy but which will not be outside the club’s limits.

Conceicao remains.
The one who has actually already convinced everyone is Francisco Conceicao, who arrived in the summer from Porto on loan, for 7 million euros (also including the Portuguese’s salary), without any purchase option in favor of Juventus. However, the lack of the right or obligation to redeem represents a non-problem, given that the Portuguese winger has a 30 million clause in his contract with the Dragoes and the Old Lady will have precedence, given that he will also be able to count on the desire of the player to continue his adventure in Turin. Cristiano Giuntoli, in due time, will try to get him by aiming for a discount from Porto, unless the son of art definitively explodes at Thiago Motta’s court, with Juve who at that point would pay the entire clause without negotiating. However, the decision seems to have already been lost and Conceicao will remain in the shadow of Mole in the coming seasons too and only a monstrous offer, from the point of view of salary, from another club could change the cards on the table.

The January transfer market: only one defender is needed.
Before talking about the summer, however, the January transfer window will arrive. For the moment, and it couldn’t be otherwise, everything is at a standstill. Too early to start negotiations which could change depending on events. The next few weeks will be used to study all the opportunities and the only thing that seems to be certain is that Juve will be looking for a defender, after Bremer’s very serious injury, to take on loan, given that it will not be possible to make investments, with always keep an eye on the budget. As far as the attack is concerned, however, Thiago Motta’s squad should remain like this. Would anyone think the blanket is short? This is undoubtedly the case now, but the objective is to fully recover Arkadiusz Milik as soon as possible. There’s no point in bringing in a third striker, because the starter is and will always be Vlahovic, who just needs a backup who can make him catch his breath when he needs it.

In short, Juventus has clear ideas, it’s as if it were a newborn team that needs time to find the right team from all points of view and oil the gears to win again, starting from its defensive solidity, shown in this start of the season, and managing to exploit all its potential given by the old guard but also by the new ones.
