Interviewed by Nu.nl, Rick Karsdorp he returned to talk about his experience at Roma, recalling in particular the argument with Mourinho which then led him out of the team and finally to being sold: “When I left the pitch in the derby against Lazio, I went to get my coat quickly, and Mourinho was very agitated. The results were terrible and I think he wanted to send a signal by using me after the match against Sassuolo. Has Mourinho apologised? No, he’s not that kind of man.
I noticed that he tried to reestablish a relationship but I didn’t agree. In the locker room he called me a traitor about eight times and he can do it. But publicly he should never have done it, he made a mistake in that. I was surprised by his gesture, he exaggerated. After that discussion, I should have left.”
