Milan, Reijnders: “I’m sure: we have the qualities to change the fate of the season”

The Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders spoke to Sky Sportsstarting from the many matches played at the start of the season between the Netherlands and the club: “I still have energy. It’s very important to recover after the matches and take care of your body, but at the moment I’m fine and I feel a lot of energy”.

Seven races in 21 days. What are the objectives in this tour de force?
“The last few races weren’t the best, but we just need to stay together because we have the right qualities to change the destiny of this season. The next races will be important, I have a lot of confidence in this group.”

Does Milan have the level to compete for the Scudetto?
“Of course. There were tactical changes, we had to understand the coach’s ideas but we are growing. We are developing our game, I repeat that the group is strong and has quality and we want to bring home victories.”

Where do you have the most fun in midfield?
“Especially as number 8, I believe that is the position in which I can have the most impact. The important thing is to have an impact for the team, this is what I ask of my game.”

Can the 4-3-3 he played in Holland be replicated at Milan?
“We do it… Maybe it’s not really a real 4-3-3 with the two attackers. I can certainly do well as a number 8 in that formation.”

Do you feel more Italian and more Milanese in your second year?
“Life here in Milan is beautiful, my wife loves it. It’s special, my first child was born here and for me it’s a special city.”
