Rome, the costs of the new stadium have doubled: one billion euros and roads to be reviewed

A new stadium for the centenary year. This is the dream of Roma who would like to play in the Pietralata facility from 2027. An important goal but one that may not even be achieved. The conditional is a must when analyzing the delays in technical times and considering the fact that after the laying of the first stone, a total of approximately 24 months of work are estimated. A situation that for the moment does not seem to take off but the Friedkins’ hope remains but the costs have increased quite a bit.

Cost in the billion euros
As reported in today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sportraw material costs have increased dramatically with the cost for the new plant estimated to be around one billion euros.

The data
A brand new stadium that will hold around 62 thousand spectators. The issues to be resolved will be those of parking and mobility, i.e. how fans can reach the stadium. The idea is to divide 50% between public transport and 50% with private transport. The company has estimated parking spaces at 4,400 and around 10,000 for motorbikes. For an estimated average of 2.7 people per car and 1.3 per motorbike, we would reach 25 thousand, still a little far from half and therefore 30 thousand. Subsequently, the frequency of trains will also need to be increased.
