Roma coach Ivan Juric gave a long and interesting interview to the ‘Corriere dello Sport’ notebooks. During the question and answer, the current Giallorossi coach said he was convinced that his team can compete with the strongest teams in Serie A: “If we go and see last year’s Torino, they didn’t have the engine capacity right to reach the end with the same points as Napoli. Here the engine is there, both behind and in the middle, I think of Koné and Pisilli who have great talent.”
Then in another passage he added: “Even up front I have all guys who can improve on controls, on body position. It’s not true that there is no displacement. You can grow by working more on strength; we always talk about displacement, but we need to perfect the sense of the game , the position, the advance: it is fundamental, sometimes even more important than pure displacement”.
Roma, fresh from the draw at Monza after seven days of the championship, are ninth in the standings with ten points won. Things are worse in the Europa League: after two rounds the Giallorossi have gained just one point thanks to the draw against Athletic Club and the defeat on the Elfsborg pitch.
