FIGC, Gravina: “VAR light and effective playing time in future football”

Gabriele Gravina and the changes to be made soon in the world of football. The president of the FIGC spoke about it during a long and interesting interview given to ‘Messaggero Veneto’: “Thanks to technology, progress can be made on video referee assistance (Var light), soon with experimentation also in Lega Pro or in Serie D where it is possible with the facilities. Then I think it is necessary to focus on actual playing time, we discovered from the data of the last championship that some teams ended up playing a few fewer games due to interruptions.”

Then on television rights the president of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina added: “I believe that television rights will decrease for domestic championships and will increase for international competitions, led by the Champions League and Europa League, and this will cause problems in the future. Here, we should be ready to accompany a process inevitably linked to the economy by tackling it and rediscovering perhaps values ​​such as territorial identity, passion for football and more”.
