Milan, Reijnders Sr.: “Barcelona wanted him for after Busquets: I suggested he refuse”

Martin Reijndersfather and agent of the midfielder Milan, Tijjanimade some statements to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad to talk about the present and future of the child:

“My interest is to find the best for my son. In my opinion, 90% of agents are not of much use. Some English clubs also liked Tijjani, but I only found out about him through intermediaries. I only spoke to Barcelona directly with Deco, the technical director.

Obviously it’s flattering that they had him in their sights, after all we’re talking about Barça. They were looking for a replacement for Sergio Busquets, but I immediately told Tijjani: ‘you are not that type of player. Before you know it, you end up on the bench. And you would become yet another player who fails abroad.”
