(ANSA) – MILAN, OCTOBER 10 – Today is the day of the testimony of the vice president of Inter and historic Nerazzurri flag, Javier Zanetti, in the Milanese investigation which ten days ago, with 19 arrests, eliminated the leaders and supporters of the ultras of the San Siro, also documenting “pressure” on the clubs. From what has become known, the former Inter captain should be heard by the Flying Squad investigators in the next few hours, in the investigation coordinated by prosecutors Paolo Storari and Sara Ombra of the DDA, led by deputy Alessandra Dolci and prosecutor Marcello Viola. In an interception in May 2023 between Marco Ferdico and Marco Materazzi, former Nerazzurri defender, it emerged that the former, ultra leader of the North and now in prison, “would have learned from Zanetti”, so he claimed, that there were “officials of Police who are monitoring the curve…”. Among other things, Zanetti was also mentioned in the phone call between Inter coach Simone Inzaghi and Ferdico of that period in relation to the ultras’ request for more tickets for last year’s Champions League final. “I speak with Ferri with Zanetti with Marotta (…) I tell him… that I spoke with you and that you had already spoken with Ferri and Zanetti”, Inzaghi replied to Ferdico, who asked that the club increase the quota of ticket to be assigned to the curve for the Istanbul away match. The ultras then obtained the 1500 tickets they wanted.
After listening to Ferdico’s requests, Inzaghi, as he recorded yesterday in his deposition, told the club that “there was a need for a few more tickets” for the final. “I represented – he clarified – to the company, to the management, but I don’t remember to whom, Ferdico’s request”. Then, he sent a message to the ultra leader writing “I did what I had to do”. Inzaghi explained that his “wish was for the team’s fans to be there to be able to cheer them on” for the match against Manchester City, after the ticket management team went on a brief fan strike in the previous Italian Cup final. In the next few days, perhaps as early as tomorrow, the investigators will also listen to AC Milan captain Davide Calabria. (HANDLE).
