Szczesny: “Smoking? I want to be judged as a goalkeeper, not for stories that aren’t interesting”

During the interview granted to Sports Worldthe goalkeeper of Barcelona Wojciech Szczesny spoke about the habit of smoking: “What can I say about it? Absolutely nothing – analyzed the former Juventus goalkeeper – these are things that I don’t change in my personal life and it’s nobody’s business if I smoke. It doesn’t have an impact, I think you don’t influence and what I do on the football pitch is work twice as hard.

And I don’t do it in front of children so as not to have a bad influence on them. Sometimes someone takes a photo of me hidden behind trees, where I can’t see them. It doesn’t depend on me. I try to hide it and not show it to people. But if anyone thinks I’m going to change the way I am in my personal life, they can think again because I am who I am. I’ve been this way all my life and this stuff is nobody’s business.

I want to be judged as a goalkeeper and – concluded Szczesny – not to look for stories in which no one is really interested.”
