Pogba, what future? In MLS the most concrete hypothesis is LAFC with Giroud and Lloris

The CAS of Lausanne has reduced Paul Pogba’s disqualification for ‘unintentional recruitment’. The French midfielder has therefore seen his suspension go from 4 years to 18 months but his present and future at Juventus is already written. It will be farewell and the parties are already discussing the formula for the resolution. The Old Lady’s management and lawyers are discussing how to dissolve the agreement expiring in the summer of 2026 and there are already the first hypotheses on how and where Pogba will settle now.

In MLS there is LAFC
According to what was collected by Tuttomercatoweb.com who in Major League Soccer will soon be able to take concrete steps is the Los Angeles Football Club. That LAFC of which Giorgio Chiellini was first a player and then a manager, a club where other French former teammates of the Polpo national team also play, such as Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud. At the moment the LA franchise has two other Designated Players, such as Carlos Vela and Denis Bouanga (in addition to Giroud), and the Pogba idea in the offices on 7th street is starting to filter through. The Saudi Arabia hypothesis also emerged, it is certainly not unusual that for a religious reason the Saudi Pro League clubs also look for Muslim stars and champions (it was one of the determining factors in the choice of Benzema and Mané, according to the chronicles of those days). And then Marseille, where Olympique could experience a shock given that it has long been linked to Ligue 1 clubs, yes but only to PSG due to a salary issue.

The TAS note
In the official document of the CAS of Lausanne it is underlined that the CAS panel in charge of the matter partially accepted the appeal presented by Paul Pogba, confirming the ADRV but reducing the sanction imposed on the player to a period of ineligibility of 18 months, starting from 11 September 2023, and canceling the fine. This is the official note from the CAS: “The CAS panel based its decision on the evidence and legal arguments put forward according to which Mr. Pogba’s intake of DHEA, the substance for which he tested positive, was not intentional and was the result of incorrectly taking DHEA, having taken a supplement prescribed to him by a doctor in Florida, after Mr Pogba had been given reassurances that the doctor, who claimed to treat several top US and international athletes , was well informed and would have been aware of Pogba’s anti-doping obligations under the World Anti-Doping Code. Mr Pogba asked for a sanction of just 12 months in recognition of the presence of some fault on his part (he did not ask for a determination of no fault or negligence by the CAS panel). NADO Italia argued that the Player’s imprudence was serious and justified a 4-year ban. Pogba’s case has been supported by several experts. Much of the evidence given by Pogba was unopposed. The CAS panel determined, however, that Mr Pogba was not blameless and that, as a professional footballer, he should have taken greater care in the circumstances.”
