Moldovan: “I dream of Serie A with Sassuolo. To be a starter I gave up Romania”

I feel very comfortable at Sassuolo, my mission is to do my job at my best and help my team match after match as I have done this month. The big dream is to be promoted to Serie A”. The goalkeeper Horatiu Moldovan spoke to Gazeta Sporturilor of how his adventure in Italy began in the ranks of the Emilian club that took him from Atletico Madrid: “The experience in Spain was useful, I had the opportunity to train with great players, world and international champions Europe, but it was also very difficult to be at Atletico and fight for a starting place against one of the best goalkeepers in the world like Oblak.”

Moldovan continues, continuing on the differences between Romanian football and others: “In Spain and Italy everything is very professional, there are all the conditions to give the best, but the first month at Atletico left me shocked. It was very difficult to get used to the intensity and quality of the training, but I worked very hard and gave my all to reach the optimal level. – continues Moldovan – Now it’s just my turn to show off at Sassuolo and, as I said, we want promotion.”

Finally, space for the relationship with the national team: “There was a lot of talk about this topic, it was said that I would have refused coach Lucescu’s call-up, but it was misinformation. I could never, ever afford such a refusal. I don’t think there is greater pride than representing your countryAnd. – concludes Moldovan – I had a constructive discussion with Lucescu and he understood my desire to stay in Emilia to adapt and win the starting position. It was the right choice since I managed to conquer the starting eleven.”
