Marino: “Napoli, Lukaku will make an impact with the big teams. Neres? If he’s better than Kvara, he’ll play”

Pierpaolo Marinoformer manager of Naplesin a connection with Televomerocame in to talk about Antonio Conte and his impact on the Neapolitans: “He influenced everything a bit, starting with the transfer market in which he made little or no mistakes. Then there was the work on the field and the psychological one, in this last aspect the coach it was a phenomenon. From a tactical point of view I’ve heard a lot of chatter up until now, but a very basic parameter for judging the balance of a team is goal difference: 7 games have been played so far, not very many but not even 2. /3 and the goal difference is the unequivocal signal of the right balance between the offensive and defensive phases. Napoli, with a +9 like Juventus, has the best goal difference in Serie A. This parameter has always helped me judge the work of the players. my coaches and to understand if the path taken was the right one”.

Lukaku had a really important impact.
“We’re talking about a champion, 31 years old today is nothing for a footballer. I’m sure he will have a big impact in direct clashes too.”

Did Neres expect it like this?
“He has a great ability to assist and also scores, as we saw against Como. If Conte decides to start him from the start, in my opinion he could be an excellent partner for Lukaku.”

Kvaratskhelia would be left out.
“In a team that must win the Scudetto, as I hope, everyone must be in discussion. If the Brazilian is better he will play, the Georgian instead will have to be ready to react.”

The referees are causing discussion.
“So far a disaster, the fact is that they receive continuous protocols. The touch on the foot is an issue that is interpreted differently by each referee. Penalty on Kvara? It doesn’t seem to me that you can push with both arms. There the the problem is the quality of the referee, without considering the VAR which does not intervene. The VAR has improved football overall, reducing the number of errors, however, it is not fair that this tool should be put at the expense of other referees, who therefore become in turn referees of the match. Former players who know all the tricks of the trade must be trained and put in charge of VAR.”
